AOC has today launched a new 35-inch monitor, as part of its AGON range. The AOC AGON AG352UCG uses a 2000R curved VA panel with an UltraWide 21:9 QHD resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. The AGON range is targeted at gamers and AOC has made this 100Hz max refresh monitor Nvidia G-Sync compatible and includes other gaming features.

The AOC AGON AG352UCG has the following key specifications:

  • Model: AG352UCG
  • Display: 35-inch 2000mm radius curved VA at 100 Hz
  • Resolution: 3440 x 1440 pixels
  • Sync Technology: G-SYNC
  • Signal Input: 1 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort, 4 x USB 3.0, Audio out, Microphone in/out
  • Special Features: AOC Ergo Base (height, tilt, swivel adjustment), Stereo speakers, 4ms GtG response time, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut

At the time of writing the product page isn't live, so we don't have any further tech specs to those provided above.

This G-Sync display synchronises the monitor refresh rate with your GeForce GTX GPU to eliminate screen tearing, stuttering and input lag. Nvidia Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) technology also facilitates the reduction of motion blur and ghosting effects.

AOC includes its Shadow Control in the new AGON AG352UCG for clearer vision in murky gaming environments. Meanwhile, for your eye health, AOC Flicker-Free technology regulates the monitor’s brightness with a direct current (DC) backlight system, and AOC Low Blue Light reduction keeps your peepers feeling fresh.

The AOC Ergo Base is supplied to provide height, tilt and swivel adjustment options. Other physical design niceties are the built-in carry handle and a retractable headset holder. Last but not least the monitor back and lower bezel has built-in LEDs which can shine in red, green, or blue hues in your choice of three intensity levels.

AOC told HEXUS that the AGON AG352UCG will be available from March 2017, with an MSRP of £799.

AMD users

In November AOC released a similar 35-inch curved gaming monitor with FreeSync. In this case the MVA panel monitor had a 4ms response time and refresh range of 30Hz to 200Hz. However, the AOC AGON AG352QCX had a lower resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. Its MSRP is only a little lower than the new higher resolution G-Sync 35-incher, at £699.

Bang on. Apart from that price. North of £500 for a monitor is tough to stomach, but this is the first monitor I've seen a CRT that tickles me. Higher static-contrast ratios should be good for photos. Decent refresh, good resolution for the size. I'd also take this in a 1080 30“ form (but 1080 on a 35” 21:9 is too fuzzy).
Nice specs but I'm not mad keen on the design.
Not bad. Approx £200 cheaper than the Acer & Asus equivalents. Tempted…

lose the curve, add freesync and I'm interested.
Wish they'd go with the more open and futureproof FreeSync. Let's not allow Nvidia to make money from this technology and allow the open source free equivalent that has the potential to work with any system.
