Word still has it that AMD's FX-Series CPUs are heading for launch next week, and now the FX-8120 (in its 95W TDP flavour), has popped-up at Ukraine-based e-tailer - Fixer.

Tagged with the product code 'FD8120FRGUBOX', the FX-8120 SKU is listed at approximately $221 US Dollars - marginally above the per 1000-unit price of $205 that was rumoured a few weeks ago, but in-line with the pre-order pricing that emerged from Bottom Line Telecommunications (BLT), almost a month ago.

It's claimed that the 8-core FX-8120, with its base clock speed of 3.1GHz, infiltrated Fixer's warehouse a few days ago, but there's no mention of any other SKUs just yet.

One wonders for how long the FX series and six-core Thuban will co-exist in retailers' listings.

Aria had the Phenom II X6 1055T for around £108 last week.

The entire Phenom II X6 line has been at crackerjack prices in recent months. You really do get heck of a lot of processing power for £100 these days.

I'd recommend AMD hitch a ride on the energy-efficiency bandwagon and launch a bunch of FX chips with 65W TDPs.

There is a 35W TDP 8 core Opteron which is now available:
