Infinity Wards’s new premium subscription-based service for the Call Of Duty franchise will not only provide an in-depth stats service, but will also be used to crackdown on cheats in Modern Warfare 3.

Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling tells GameSpy that Call Of Duty: Elite will allow players to report dodgy user activity, while in-house teams will monitor players on a daily basis to ensure fair play.

A lot of that stuff can be done through Elite that we can review,” says Bowling. “Then we have tools to report player stuff in game that players can use, and we’ll have entire teams monitoring and taking actions on those. That’s new for us. A lot of that stuff, the monitoring stuff, a lot of that was introduced in Black Ops but with Elite that is launching with Modern Warfare 3, we’re taking that in an all new area, having full teams dedicated solely to that."

Among many other features, Call Of Duty: Elite will give players an in-depth look at statistical details of their own performance and gameplay as well as that of the entire Call of Duty community, including heat maps, load-outs, stat trends, custom leaderboards, and integration of your Facebook friends.

Modern Warfare 3, which is being developer co-operatively with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, will launch on November 8th.

Well, that's that then as far as I am concerned.

If I have to pay a subscription to get anti-cheat measures, they can take a long running jump…

Whole-heartedly agree. COD4 was going good till cheats came and IW did nothing. M2 came and cheats again and IW did some weak patching which didn't fix the cheat issues and they didn't bother anymore. COD is the biggest cash cow of the century!
Roffle …. well done ..

When i thought they couldnt hit that nail anymore into that coffin … hey presto lol

So…a lot of stuff then. Does this guy know what day of the week it is by any chance? Because he clearly knows naff all else.

Tools to report player stuff in game that players can use… :stupid:

If this is kind of quality we can expect from MW3, from its “Creative strategist”, then I am very very worried! I'd half expect the AI to start walking round licking windows!
I think the subscription is an optional extra, you still get the main features, some people will just choose to pay through the nose for things which, on pc, used to be free and/or community driven through mods. Link i for one don't want to pay the price of a full game for the extra content, i will play mw3 and bf3
