Introduction

If there's one thing that struck me as a little odd at the launch of NVIDIA's GeForce 6600 boards, it was the large gap between clock speeds of the two official variants of card - We saw the 6600GT come in clocked at 500MHz for both core and RAM, and the 'vanilla' 6600 at a far lower 300MHz core and 275MHz RAM clocks. That left a something of a hole, just begging to be filled somehow.

Luckily, it seems like I wasn't the only one thinking along these lines, as what we have for you today is a board to step up to the task of squeezing into the gap between the 'vanilla' and GT 6600, in the form of MSI's NX6600-VTD128E Diamond. To see just how it fits into the 6600 line-up, and perhaps more importantly how it performs, read on.
