A new sensation
Vodafone has put up the Gingerbread-powered HTC Sensation for pre-order on its UK website, much ahead of its official launch later on 19 May.
When bought online, the dual-core phone will be available free on £35, 24 month price plans, including 900 minutes, unlimited texts and 750MB of mobile data. According to TechRadar, it will be available "from £25 per month (although you'll need to fork out £199 for the handset)"
The phone features a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 4.3-inch screen, 8-megapixel camera, a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and runs on the latest Android 2.3 operating system. According to Android community blog, the phone is expected to launch in the US later in 2011 as the T-Mobile Sensation 4G.
In the meanwhile, one other dual-core phone, Samsung Galaxy S II will be available on Three Mobile. It will be available from £35 a month or for £40 a month on The One Plan with All-You-Can-Eat Data, 2000 anytime, any network minutes, 5000 texts. While Pay as you go customers can buy it for £499.99.
Unveiled at the MWC 2011 back, the Galaxy S II runs on Google's Gingerbread, has NFC capabilities and features Full HD (1080p) video recording that can be played directly on a laptop - thanks to Samsung's wireless sync functionality.
Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three said, "With its dual-core processor - allowing super-fast browsing and multitasking - and its Super AMOLED+ screen, the Samsung Galaxy SII will provide our customers with an unrivalled smartphone experience, including the ability to share Full HD videos online at ease, knowing their data use us covered with our all-you-can-eat data available on The One Plan and on PAYG."
