Wargaming has written to HEXUS today to tell us all about its World of Tanks Update 9.0: New Frontiers in which "history comes alive". Or at least history looks much better with the update marking the start of "a massive visual overhaul" being implemented thoughout the game this year.
World of Tanks Update 9 spruces up the game's visuals by providing enhanced graphics for all battle arenas, tanks and in-game objects. Special mention is made of the America M4 Sherman, Soviet T-54, and German Tiger I tank models which are among the first 10 tanks to use new high definition models and textures. There's still a lot of work to be done though as there are over 300 armoured vehicles featured in the game…
Wargaming developers have also added new physics to this very popular massively multiplayer online (MMO) free-to-play (F2P) action game dedicated to armoured warfare. Now gamers will see "turrets being blown off upon the explosion of the ammo rack and realistic suspension behaviour," exhibited by the new HD tank models.
One more significant change worth mentioning in World of Tanks Update 9.0: New Frontiers is the inclusion of the 'Historical Battles' game mode. Wargaming informs us that this mode "pits enemies against each other in some of World War II’s legendary tank encounters". Players command their historically accurately outfitted, and thus authentically restricted vehicles, and take part in one of three iconic WWII battles; Operation Spring Awakening, the Battle of Kursk, or the Ardennes Breakthrough.
